I'm starting to believe in a superstition that i once thought was dumb and lame. That when you see a flying moth in the hospital wards, there's someone due to face the angel of death. And the past month, my predictions have been accurate.

Yesterday we lost 25/1 after a long struggle with cancer. And today, we lost the irritating but pitiful 26/10, unexpectedly. One minute he was smiling to Apol, and few minutes later, he had aspirated out the milk Apol had let him drink. Thinking that he might have been hypo, told Apol to check his glucose level. But within that minute, he was unresponsive and the code blue was pressed. My hands were trembling; but Thank God i was able to control my emotions and organize the active resuscitation with Apol and Grace. Helped arrived but sad to say, we were unable to revive him after almost an hour of resuscitation. May God bless his soul. And to those who came offering a helping hand, Thank You so much.

And today i witnessed the most interesting and rarest procedure ever done in ward basis. The removal and harvesting of the dead's cornea. I shall not elaborate further on how the procedure was carried out. But try imagining a sharp blade cutting through your eyes. Ohmygod! I'm just glad i was not the "surgeon".

A hard day's of work is over, and i'm due to start my round of night in a later bit. Hopefully it'll be a smooth sailing one, with no active resuscitation again. Bismillah. Well, before i head off, here's to my Miss Rahmahwati who's currently recuperating from vertigo secondary to exhaustion in our own ward.
